One of the most common places for children to disclose abuse is within the school setting. How the school responds to this is critical and can shape the whole investigation moving forward. This training is intended for school personnel to understand the process of child abuse investigations and improve collaboration with those investigating cases of child abuse and neglect. Trainees will learn about the investigative process, as well as the services provided by the Child Advocacy Center. Participants will understand how to ask minimal fact questions if needed when a child makes an outcry of abuse. Schools will understand the steps that Health and Human Services must take regarding allegations of abuse and neglect to work collaboratively with them.  In this session, participants will learn how to:  1. Determine what questions to ask a child when you suspect child abuse or neglect. 2. Examine the services provided to a child brought to the Child Advocacy Center/Child Protection Center 3. Understand the investigative process with Health and Human Services.
