In this session participants will explore what LGBTQ student support looks like among Iowa's current education landscape. They'll examine the intersection of LGBTQ rights and educational policy in Iowa, gaining insights into recent legislative changes and their impact on LGBTQ students' well-being. Through interactive discussions and case studies, attendees will delve into the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ youth in schools, including bullying, discrimination, and lack of support. By the end of the session, participants will have tools and strategies to prioritize the safety, well-being, and academic success of LGBTQ students, within the boundaries of recent education policy developments.
